Never a boring day in Open Source. Two Norwegian companies and one Swedish has been sold.
- Microsoft acquired Fast search and transfer. They prob. need the search technology in their battle (that they are currently loosing) against Google.
- MySQL was acquired by Sun. Swedish based MySQL is the world most popular Open Source database server.
- Nokia acquire Trolltec. Trolltech is a Norwegian company making a cross platform toolkit called Qt, used to create GUI. Nokia have sent an open letter to the the Open Source community, claiming that they will continue to license Qt under a Open Source license. A desktop environment like KDE is created on Qt.
